Mast is a sound installation built from structural recordings of a boat that were made over the course of a number of weeks. The recordings were made by attaching small contact microphones to the mast and the four long cables that hold the mast in place; shrouds, forestay and backstay.

As the weather affected the structures on the boat, long drones of shifting frequencies were created that are below the surface of what the naked ear can experience.

The audio for this 5 channel installation has also been edited down from 33 minutes to an 8 minute stereo composition for Daily Constitutional's online sound exhibition 'Soundcast III'. The piece is titled "Rigging in the Rain".
